About the HeartMath Institute
The donor-funded nonprofit 501(c)(3) HeartMath Institute (HMI) is a research and education organization dedicated to helping people establish heart-based living and global coherence. The institute cares deeply about the physical, mental and emotional well-being of people regardless of age, belief, heritage and circumstance.
The HeartMath Institute Research Center conducts innovative scientific investigation into:
- Interconnectivity
- Heart-brain interactions
- Personal, social and global coherence
- Intuition and heart intelligence
- Resilience
- The physiology of optimal performance.
- Organizational outcomes
HMI's education mission focuses on products and training programs to help people self-regulate emotions and connect with the intelligence and guidance of their own hearts. HMI provides products and resilience training programs to the underserved, community service organizations such as nonprofits, schools and universities, law enforcement and first responders, government agencies, veterans centers and military families.
The institute also sponsors free programs for communities, students, educators, military personnel and their families and veterans.
HMI launched the Global Coherence Initiative (GCI) in 2008. GCI is a science-based, co-creative project uniting people in heart-focused care and intention. GCI and its supporters are helping to shift global consciousness from instability and discord to balance, cooperation and enduring peace.
GCI works in concert with other initiatives to harness the power of collective human intention and consciousness and conduct research on the interconnectivity between the energy fields of Earth and the world's people. GCI is establishing a global network of 14 ultrasensitive magnetic field detectors specially designed to measure the earth's magnetic resonances; these detectors are being installed in strategic locations around the planet.
